It was an absolute pleasure to be asked to take part in the 13th Shrewsbury Cartoon Festival last weekend as one of their 'big boarders'. The theme was Luck, and the challenge was to produce a very large cartoon between 10am and 5pm (and, as it turned out, in the freezing cold) while members of the public looked on, engaged you in conversation, and, in at least one case as far as I was concerned, had a little go themselves. In addition to the big boarders there was an exhibition, talks, workshops and plenty more besides to engage those visiting the festival, while for us cartoonists it was an opportunity to meet up and indulge ourselves in the thing we enjoy so much. Thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
