World Book Day, for many schools, has become a week-long celebration of books and reading. That can only be a good thing. So, as part of that, I'm going to a different school each day to discuss my books, and how I work, and do a few creative workshops. Today took me across the New Forest to Brockenhurst Primary where I was warmly welcomed at an assembly and shared a few titles I've worked on. After a spot of live drawing, directed by the children, I visited Year 2 in their classroom for some step-by-step illustration. They've been using New Forest Friends & The Litterbugs as the focus for a project, meaning they were very familiar with the characters and the story. It's extremely pleasing that, after all these years, Litterbugs is still having such an impact.
