Ceratopia provides graphic design, cartoons, illustration and proofreading either direct to clients or as a support to other agencies. We also act as the 'in-house' design studio for several businesses where it's impractical for them to have their own.
Our clients include businesses operating in entertainment, engineering, sport and leisure, but our speciality is anything aimed at the children's and families' market, where we're able to combine our graphic design know-how with Simon's cartoons and illustration.
Whether you're just after a simple single-page website or cartoon, or an involved multi-page guidebook or visitor attraction leaflet, you can rely on us to help without the jargon and heavy sales techniques. We're only happy if you're happy.
Simon worked in advertising for 15 years before setting up Ceratopia, a business that aimed to combine his talents for graphic design and cartoon illustration. That was over ten years ago now, and during that time he's worked with many High Street brands, visitor attractions and other design agencies.
He has illustrated almost thirty children's picture books, and written some of them too. He also regularly visits Hampshire schools to talk about the topics covered by some of the books and run workshops.
Regularly reminds people that he colours in for a living.
Josephine began her professional career in journalism in Hong Kong, spending ten years on English-speaking newspapers and magazines as a sub-editor before returning to the UK to work on a number of regional titles. The gradual decline of the newspaper industry as more people source their news online has meant moving with the times.
Josephine uses her skills to offer proofreading, copy-editing, page layout and artworking. This includes the design and layout of both a quarterly and monthly magazine, newsletters, and supporting other agencies and businesses to present their material professionally.
