This week I spent a morning with Rownhams St Johns C of E Primary in Southampton. Not only did I get to officially open their new library, but I was able to spend time with the children sharing cartoon illustration tips. The photos are from the session with Year 3 and 4. This was drawing one of the characters from my books in a manner to build drawing confidence because the whole drawing is put together with simple lines, shapes, numbers and letters. I do a step, then they copy it, and the results they get are astounding. Always great fun to see, particularly when the children seem to enjoy it so much.
I've really missed going in to schools because of the pandemic, so it's nice to be getting back into it now. If you'd like me to come and lead a workshop at your school, or maybe give a talk to your group, please do get in touch.
