Last week Simon joined fellow cartoonists Rich Skipworth and Tim Harries in Nottingham for a talk on cartooning. The event was in aid of the Ossie Newell Foundation, a charity that raises money for stroke survivors, and it was Ossie himself who had approached Rich to suggest the talk.
The first hour was split between the three cartoonists talking about how they'd come into the profession and the work they've undertook, and then after a short break, it was questions from the audience and a brief drawing demo. Fortunately, the theatre was well attended so there were plenty of queries to answer to the point that the talk over-ran. With audience members' questions being pleasingly varied, discussions were had about work discipline, was cartooning ability genetic and the general state of the cartooning industry, plus a whole host of other tidbits and tips.
Such was the response Rich, Tim and Simon would be happy to repeat the experience, so if you'd be interested in booking them then please do get in touch.
