It's almost Halloween, and Longdown Activity Farm will be having some spooky stuff taking place across the weekend of the 29th and 30th October. One of the highlights, which is on the Sunday only, is to meet and hold a barn owl and see lots of creepy creatures courtesy of The Creature Teachers. Also on the Sunday, if you come in fancy dress, there's a chance to win prizes!
Longdown Activity Farm have a broad reach across Hampshire and into the neighbouring counties, and they help maintain that interest by advertising in different publications. This inevitably means different sized ads as each publication has its own sizes and prices, so no one ad will fit all. In this case I had to create five ads, all at different sizes, two of which were landscape, and one was for a black and white publication. So aside from creating a new Halloween farm-themed cartoon, there was a lot more work to fit all of the information Longdown Activity Farm wanted to get in, and make sure it worked at all sizes. What's important for Longdown is that this process is done quickly and efficiently to make the production of the ads economical.
They help ensure this is done by supplying all the information they need in the ads up front. I then create one ad for them to approve. When we know that one is working the artwork can be applied across the other sizes. It means they don't incur drawn-out creative costs and I don't have to constantly re-work a design as more information is added in and taken out across all the required sizes.
Longdown Activity Farm is also open throughout all of half-term week, from 10am to 5pm, for all the usual farmyard fun. It's a great day out for families and it's going to be a splendidly spooky weekend too.
